|Chris Young's First GRAMMY Nomination Delivers One More Highlight to Incredible Year|
|Nominated for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for “Gettin’ You Home” |
RCA Nashville chart-topper Chris Young has enjoyed an amazing run of firsts that began with his first #1 single last fall with “Gettin’ You Home.” That song, which also became his first RIAA Gold Digital Single, this week earned Young the first GRAMMY nomination of his career for Best Male Country Vocal Performance.
The news of his first GRAMMY nod was an incredible moment for Young, who shares, “It feels overwhelming to think that I’ve been nominated for a GRAMMY. This is the type of thing an artist strives for his whole career. It’s just been an amazing year and heading into 2011 with my very first GRAMMY nomination is unbelievable!”
2010 has been a knockout year for Young, who spent three weeks at #1 with his second consecutive chart-topper, “The Man I Want to Be,” and is currently hot on the airwaves with his latest single, “Voices.”
After scoring another first this year with his CMA nomination as New Artist of the Year, Young is currently a double-nominee for this Monday’s American Country Awards, where he’s up for Music Video of the Year and Music Video: Male, both for his hit, “The Man I Want to Be.”
Having toured with Rascal Flatts all summer and Alan Jackson in November, Young is maintaining a busy schedule through the end of the year before re-joining Rascal Flatts for the second leg of the group’s Nothing Like This Tour, beginning January 14.
Chris’ current release is his acclaimed sophomore album, The Man I Want to Be, which includes the back-to-back #1 singles, “Gettin’ You Home” and “The Man I Want to Be,” and his current smash, “Voices.”
The American Country Awards will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, December 6, at 8 PM ET/PT tape-delayed, on FOX.
The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards will air live on CBS, February 13, at 8 PM ET/PT.
